Private & Group Skateboarding Lessons in Miami
Train with Miami Skate Academy at a local skatepark, a nearby public park, or an appropriate home practice area. We serve skaters across Miami, Hollywood, and nearby South Florida communities.
Our coaches help beginners and developing skaters build safe riding habits, balance, board control, confidence, coordination, and new skills at the right pace.

What to Tell Us First
When you reach out, please share:
- The name and age of your skater(s)
- The area you live in — skatepark availability varies by neighborhood
We primarily work out of Haulover Skatepark and North Beach Park. For beginners, we especially recommend Haulover on weekdays — it's a relaxed, easy-going spot perfect for little skaters just starting out.
Lesson Options
- Private lessons — 30, 60, or 90 minutes
- Semi-private and small-group lessons (max 4 skaters per coach)
- Travel Team sessions — for advanced skaters (2-hour sessions)
- Seasonal memberships — after-school, weekly, and camp formats
- ISSA-certified fitness coaching available

Scheduling & Policies
- Book at least 5 days in advance when possible
- Appointments must be confirmed through our scheduling app after payment
- Each skater requires their own individual lesson selection
- Subscription lessons do not roll over month to month
- Subscriptions must be canceled at least 2 weeks before the next recharge date
- Cancellation fees may apply — all sales are final
- In inclement weather, the assigned coach determines if the lesson can proceed safely

Before your first session, make sure you have these four things:
- Helmet — Required. All other pads (knee, elbow, wrist) are strongly recommended.
- Skateboard — Don't have one? No problem. Free rentals are included with every lesson.
- Signed Waiver — Complete our photo & liability waiver before your session: Sign here

🗓️ Monthly Membership — Group Session Schedule
Subscription members receive at least one extra group session per month and may qualify for discounts or bonus coach time. Session details vary month to month based on coach availability.

Our Travel Team is designed for more advanced skaters who can already push, kick, and perform basic tricks on their own. We travel to skateparks across Miami-Dade and beyond:

💪 Fitness Training for Skaters
Want to level up athletically? Our ISSA-certified coach offers fitness sessions designed specifically for skaters — combining strength training, mobility, and skateboarding to build a well-rounded athlete.
Sample Workout
- Calf raises — 3 × 10–15 reps (using board for balance)
- Squats — Stand-up squats on board (in grass, non-rolling) or standard squats
- Step ollies — Jump up steps and ollie at the top or bottom
- Hamstring work — With or without board, based on level
- Pull-ups + trick practice — 3 × max reps (goal: 10), then one flat-ground trick
Session Flow
- 5 min — Goal-setting, intro, nutrition check-in, hydration
- 10–15 min — Light warmup and stretching
- 15–25 min — Main workout (3–5 min per exercise)
- 10–15 min — Easy skate cruise or skate video review with coach
🎯 Solo Practice Guide for Beginners
Heading to the skatepark on your own? Here's a simple routine to follow:
Warm-Up Stretching (10 min)
Neck · Shoulders · Back · Hips · Legs · Ankles
Knee & Ankle Strengthening (10 min or 3 sets each)
- Squats — 5 to 10 reps
- Calf raises — 10 to 20 reps
- High jumps — 10 reps
Skateboarding Practice
- Carving and pumping — practice proper foot position for cruising
- Ollie foot position (note: different from cruising stance)
- Flip the board and land on it
- Jump onto the board from the ground or a small drop (if available)
